Get Involved

Guests at the 2010 Foodbank BallThere are a multitude of ways you can get involved to support Swindon Foodbank. Have a look at the suggestions below, and get in touch with us to get started!

Top up the stock - donate food

A practical and valuable method of supporting our work is to give non-perishable food on a regular basis. Click here to see our shopping list of items needed.

Give your time - volunteer

Volunteers are our most valuable asset, helping with food collection events at supermarkets, helping sort and pack food in the warehouse, talking with clients who come in to the distribution centre to collect their crisis food, helping with our administration and fund raising.

Help us keep going - make a regular contribution

Donate as little as £3 per month in a tax-efficient way. 50% of our funding comes from individuals who give between £3 and £50 per month to our general fund. This is a significant proportion of our funding enabling us to have one full time and one part time member of staff to ensure all our volunteers and clients are fully cared for.

Fundraising

You can also help us reach our income to keep the vital work going by getting involved in fundraising initiatives. Fundraising events can be a great way to motivate yourself or your colleagues or staff. Let us know your events, and we will help you in any way we can.

Show your company cares  - sponsor Swindon Foodbank

Increase awareness of your company, and help generate local business by sponsoring the Foodbank Ball. We will advertise your logo on our website and give you a write up in our programme for the evening in exchange for your sponsorship of a part of the Ball.  More details on our Sponsorship page

You can also advertise on the Swindon Foodbank van, that drives around Swindon every day of the year; in our monthly newsletter; and on the Swindon Foodbank website.

Show your boss cares - Corporate donations

Encourage your boss to donate to Swindon Foodbank - maybe they’ll commit to price matching you in a fundraising event, or perhaps nominate Swindon Foodbank as your adopted charity for a time? Fifty percent of our financial support comes from business. Without this type of financial support some local people would go hungry.

Donations can be directed to our general fund or to enable us to acquire specific assets that enable us to enhance or sustain our core services.
